We are going to France (Camping Life).

First time abroad with teh DCs - they all need passports, so does DP.

Where on the Algarve, we have been there (about 10yrs ago though).

Aberfiera was exactly where we were.

There are 2 parts, the traditional village and "The strip" or newer end.

A word of warning the latter was very rowdy at night.

It was 10 years ago though.

There are 2-3 water parks within day trip distance which were great for older children. You are also not far from the expensive place where the celebs have their yaughts. A great place for a relaxed wander around of an evening and great sea food resaurants on the marina.

SlightlyMadShrek · 15/01/2008 21:45

Also the beach at the "strip" end is very very stoney IIRC. I am pretty sure it was sandy at the village end though as there was a guy that had made a fantastic huge sand sculpture when we were there.

ooo sounds fab especially the yachts!! must remember to take my bag advertising yacht insurance they might mistake me for some celeb and give me lots of attention and treats.

It is only a 5-10min walk from one to the other.

We were on teh perimeter of the strip side which was a pretty good location. Close enough to stagger back from teh Strip (pre children), close enough for a slightly longer walk into the village during the day.

The strip is ligned with places to eat - and we had some great meals - but there are also some excellent places if you try the back streets.

There was a little restaurant right behind out hotel (could see from our room) which was fab and a bit more relaxed.

You will have a great time if you get your passports sorted

We are going to the Vendee, which is West coast.

We will also stop at teh big 'D' in Paris for a couple of nights too.

I have never been to France properly either. Have done a day trip, and an overnight stop over when driving down to Switzerland. Both of which we school trips.

Am looking forward to it.
