France - Where For One Week Post Campsite

Hi guys.
We have decided to do a week in Le Pin Parasol campsite in the Vendee next June.
We will be going for two weeks, so for our second week we are thinking we would book into a villa/gite with private pool.
We are really looking to be within close driving distance (or possibly walking distance) of a nice town with a decent choice of restaurants (within 2-3 drive max of le pin Parasol).
Just wondering if anyone could recommend anywhere they have been that they liked? Will be travelling with 2 kids (4 and 6). They will no doubt spend most of their time splashing about in the pool - so we just want to have a decent choice of eateries close by.
I have ben to Ile De Re before and would consider going again.
Other places that have come up in searches that look nice (albeit I haven't been given any specific recommendations) are Saint Georges de Didonne and Saint Palais sur Mer.
Any recommendations for areas that may fit the bill would be greatly appreciated.
TIA.

I know that area well, we used to have a mobile home in Ronce les Bains. Quaint town, beach isn't fab so you need to cycle /
Drive / walk to a beach.

Depending on what you Rae after in size of town La Palmyre is a more 'active' twin.

If you liked il de Re have a look at Il d'Oleron, it's beautiful, a little more rustic.

You can't really go wrong on that bit of coast though.

Saint G and St Palais also both lovely. St Palais would be my pick of the two. Great beach.

Thanks very much for the advice. Beach not so much of a priority as our girls will be happy at the pool. But I still always prefer somewhere on the coast anyway. Something about being by the sea that makes it feel more holiday-like somehow.
