What's it like? Young family with an 8 year old. Any places you'd recommend visiting? We're staying in Costa dorada :)

Catalonia is huge; certainly not an area which you can cover in just a couple of day trips. Just concentrate on Costa Dorada. It’s really family friendly. The beaches have calm, shallow and there are numerous theme parks and water parks. Lots of culture too such as the Roman Amphitheatre in Tarragona and the Gaudí Centre in Reus.
I’d definitely recommend PortAventura, the House of Illusion theatre show, Aquopolis Water Park, Parc Sama, and Font Lluminosa and Cybernetic Fountains in Salou. The archaeological museum in Tarragona was a surprise hit with my dc. There were lots of children’s activities and events, a special guided tour for kids, theatre acts, games and a mini cinema.
