Croatia -Split area recommendations

Hello - we are going to Croatia this summer and doing a bit of a road trip, including 3 nights in Split. Have older teens with us who just want a hotel with pool near the beach. Could anyone recommend an area and / or hotel that isn’t in the old town but is still easily accessible? Many thanks
