Where would you get a villa or similar in April with kids?

We like to holiday over Easter, last few have been Canaries and Cape Verde.

Next year we would like a villa instead of AI, and have been looking at maybe Turkey, Cyprus or Canaries again.

We don’t want super hot, but warm enough to swim etc outdoors, catch a bit of sun. I had wondered about the Balearics? Andalusia? Nerja? Some parts of Ibiza?

Does anyone have any suggestions?

Shamelessly piggybacking for ideas.....would like to find a villa with a pool, probably in Spain for end May/June for adults and two primary aged children. Needs to be near a beach and restaurants and a few food shops to make mass catering easier! Any suggestions?

Your main problem will be the swimming. Cyprus/canaries (not Balearics or Turkey by April I don't think) will be a lovely warm temp but the pools are freezing then. Can't think of anywhere short haul that will be warm enough to swim in April.

We went to Mallorca this Easter and it definitely wasn't warm enough to enjoy swimming.

Yes I was coming on to say that we went to Majorca late June and it was too cold to swim in the pool much.

We went to Majorca this April, lovely time, low 20's = perfect. But outside pool was freezing cold, and the sea.

If you want summer weather, then anywhere in Spain, Italy, Greece, etc won't be warm enough for swimming, particularly in unheated pools. Cyprus is apparently 21 in April, which would be very pleasant after a UK winter, so that might be worth a try? Just make sure the pool will be heated.

I've been to Mallorca in May half term and it's been gorgeous.

But not Easter. The med isn't warm enough then. You'll have to go back to the canaries.

i can’t think of many places that will be warm enough short of a heated pool.
id personally go to Cyprus

Wherever you choose just make sure the Villa has a heated pool.😊

We were in Lanzarote this Easter and the sea was pretty cold. It was ok for me for a quickish swim (but I swim throughout the winter in the sea in the UK). The kids splashed around in it in shortie wetsuits, but weren't that interested in swimming in it. They had hours of fun in the (heated, but still not massively warm) pool though
