Eurocamp Switzerland and then France heading back to UK?
MiniCooperLover · 19/06/2022 18:17
Hi there, we are thinking of Eurocamp in Switzerland next summer for 5 nights, followed by a stop for 4 nights or so in a French camp on the way back to Calais for the shuttle. Does anyone have any experience of this? We are thinking of Manor Farm Campsite in Interlarken. If so, what French site would you recommend. Thanks

Having worked in Switzerland for several years (and: not knowing the first thing about Eurocamps):
Please be advised that whatever you currently consider "expensive" is about to get a reality check in CH. Yes, a take-away meal in Zurich will cost around about the same as one at a reasonably priced (but not "bottom of the barrel") restaurant in the UK.

We did this once. We did Disney in Paris then drove to lauterbrunnen in Switzerland for three nights then back to France. We stayed at Val de Bonnel in the Jura region for a week. Switzerland was amazing but expensive. Val de bonnel was ok. Weather wasn't great and the campsite was in the middle of no where. Fine to relax and chill but not a lot to do when the weather was poor. Great holiday though and highly recommend it.

We LOVE manor farm and go regularly. I would advise you to book in advance, there is lots to do.
As PP said, Val de Bonnal is a bit... meh. We love Lauterbrunnen.
You can also check out the campsites in Annecy and domaine de chalain.
If you are looking outside of Eurocamp,
Huttopia is also a good campsite chain. We love the Divonne one.

Manor farm will also give you a local transport pass which is a great help.
It's right on the lake, so great for a bit of fun.
There is a Lidl close by for food.
Prepare picnics!
Check around for passes for tourist sites. Lots of hiking with amazing views.

Domaine de Chalain is lovely. Annecy is on my to do list.
