Does anywhere like this exist in Greece? Nice self catering that isn't a villa.

Hi

Just back from our second wonderful holiday in Portugal and would like to try a similar type place in Greece next year but googling so far is getting me nowhere. Wondering if this type of place even exists outside Portugal. Certainly does not via the main tour operators (totally fine with booking independently). Not fussed about island but an area with lots to see and do and not party-central. Flights from the North West. Kids are 7 and 8. Willing to be a bit out of the way as we will likely hire a car.

We are after...
Hotel type complex with communal pool/restaurant etc as a minimum, but instead of hotel room we would like
2+ bed apartment with separate living area.
Well appointed with dishwasher, ff, air-con etc. 4 star minimum.
We have been to two places in Portugal that were like this, Monte Santo and Salema Beach Village. Here is Salema which we just came back from. Just perfect for us but we're not ones to go to the same place twice.

We've also enjoyed similar hols in French campsites staying in one of the nicer lodges. But I know French campsites are not really replicated anywhere else.
Not keen on a villa as we would like there to be eating options on site and any villa with private pool is likely to be out of our price range for just the four of us.

Any ideas much appreciated.

You could look at Eleonas in Crete but suspect it’s less smart than you want. You could also look at Kapsalianos and Dalabelos.

At the other end of the scale there’s the Rou estate on Corfu, but may not be that child-oriented.

Other possibilities: Elounda Gulf Villas (Crete), Eagles Villas (Corfu), Diles & Rinies (Tinos), Kavos Naxos (Naxos).

@minipie
thanks a lot for those suggestions, Eleonas would be right up my husband's street. Rou looks too posh for us (our usual options in Portugal have been brilliant value) but there are def some options there to look at, thank you.

You will find a lot more options if you don’t require a restaurant on site - there are lots of apartment complexes which are walking distance to a beach or village with a choice of tavernas. This is what we usually do in Greece, s/c but walkable to restaurants.

Very useful to know thanks. Yes walking distance to restaurants would be doable.
