Rome in October - or wait till spring

Hello
Ive been to Rome a few times, including once in August which is why we won’t go in the summer holidays. Am wondering about going in October half term. Anyone been then?
I know it won’t be as cold as here but obviously we want to be outside lots so needs to be fairly nice or is it gloomy there too. Wondering if I should leave to Easter (I remember March being warm in the day and cold at night). Thanks

We went October half term a few years ago and it was lovely. Warm and sunny during the day but got a bit cooler in the evenings.

Went in October about 20 years ago and it was perfect - sunny and warm but not too hot. Also there in January recently and it was warm and sunny then too - Tshirt weather. (Snowing in St Peter’s square a couple of weeks later though so it’s the luck of the draw really).

We've been in October as well and it was lovely. One thing to watch out for though is, depending on the dates, lots of things are shut for All Souls Day (1 Nov) - we got caught out by this and then everythijng was packed the day after.

Rome is great at any time of the year, tbh!

That’s good to know thanks, I imagine it’s not a massively touristy time of year as well.
warm not hot is exactly what I am after!

We went October half-term a few years back and it was tshirt and ice-cream weather. We lunched outdoors but tended to eat the evening meals inside as it was dark.

I went in October. It was lovely. A light jacket for the evenings but otherwise mild and not unbearably hot.

Same as everyone else we were there in October and it was very pleasant.

October and Easter are fairly equal: they should both be warm and sunny - but you could get rainstorms. I'd vote for October - less busy than Easter and April is one of rainiest months in Rome.

I went in December and we ate outside for lunch every day!
