Child's passport after marriage

Hi there, I'm trying to apply for a passport for my 1 year old and not sure if it's going to be approved with my documentation.

He was born after I married his father so his birth certificate has my married name on it, my passport however is still in my maiden name because it still has 7 years on it. Will this be approved or do I need to pay to update mine first? I'd have to fast track them both so would rather avoid it if possible. We'll all be travelling together so not worried about the surnames not matching

You probably just need to provide your marriage certificate as well as your passport number and your child's birth certificate

You'll need to show your relationship to the child (birth certificate) and your own British Citizenship (via your passport) plus your m/cert to show your name change.
You may have to provide grandparents' details as it's a child's first ppt.
If you fill in the application online, the site will tell you what to send.

Thanks both, have included the marriage certificate and have realised his birth certificate has both names included so hopefully should be fine.
