Which flights tend to be the ones being cancelled at the moment?

Looking at booking our holiday for the summer and trying to see if certain flights/countries where the flight cancellations seem to be happening more.

Is it tending to be short haul more than long haul?
Is it airport specific? Or is it destination country specific?
I know TUI have cancelled holidays, are the other flight companies doing it too and if so, are any particular bad at the moment?

We have travel insurance, etc but would like to reduce the chances as much as possible from the outset if we can.

I know I can Google and I will. But figured I'd ask MN too in the meantime.

We are fairly undecided in where we want to go right now, just know it'll be a summer holidays fortnight (I teach) and somewhere hot, possibly long haul.

Easyjet booking here for early July, nervous..

We have flights to Greece booked with Tui (just flights), from Birmingham for July. Haven’t heard anything bad about Birmingham airport so fingers crossed 🤞 Our flight leaves at 7am so we have booked an airport hotel for the night before to help give us lots of check in time.

We have booked to fly with Etihad so fingers crossed.
It's from Manchester though, so will need to allow plenty of time - wondering if we could check in cases the night before (BA is currently saying you can check bags in up to 24 hours before) as that would take the pressure off a bit.

Flew out of B/ham today at 7am

arrived at airport at 4.15am and made it to the gate with 5 minutes to spare. But be aware that they are calling people out of the security line as you’re queuing - they were calling the 6.55 flights

we did online check in and self service bag drop on the day, so started queuing at 4.20am

the staff were trying there best to only allow people in the queue who were flying within 3hrs and turning away others. Clearly these people wanted to still queue so there were some explanations happening

but it is hampering people as some are there for flights after 8:30 and clogging up the security queuing upstairs

it was very well run, staff were trying to very nicely stop people trying to queue jump and weren’t having an easy ride from some customers

we got our bags at the other end but apparently a few are going missing so if checking in bags it’s worth cross packing

@MissyB1

apparently the TUI desk opens at 4am so people must have been queuing from 3.30am judging by the queue

@ivykaty44
oooh thanks that’s worth knowing 👍
