Please help me decide which hotel to book, Menorca

Trying to book a last minute holiday for me, my DH, DD4 and DD2 and can’t really find anything that meets what we want exactly. We have narrowed it down to two hotels in Menorca but are struggling to decide.

If you had to chose between the following two, which would you pick?

Tui Suneo Marinda Garden Club - Cala’N Bosch

Insotel Punta Prima Resort and Spa - Punta Prima

Second one definitely. Looks great from the pics and all the reviews are raving about how good it is for families!

I

Sorry posted too soon! I agree second one looks good! We're looking for family holiday and to go within the next few weeks to Majorca or menorca.

Sorry a bit off topic, but concerned about going with tui because of flight cancellations, does anyone know who's a safer travel company to go with? I'm sorry OP don't want to de rail your thread but just wondered what if you knew much about this. But maybe you're not planning on going yet!

Second one

Travelplans · 11/06/2022 06:44

Thank you, my concern on the second one was the dated rooms but hopefully we won’t be spending too much time in them!

@theworldhasgoneinsane I am concerned about that as well tbh but we plan to fly this week and given the amount of flights they have cancelled just last week I’m hoping there won’t be any more cancellations just yet. I would be flying with jet2 at the moment if I had a choice, but they don’t have flights on the days and times we want to go.

I’m going to be devastated if it does get cancelled, we had an amazing holiday booked for last month but my dd got chicken pox days before we were due to travel so had to cancel and the hotel is now full or twice the price on alternative dates.

From what I have heard, jet2 is meant to be a safe option at the moment and much of the problem is with easyJet with Tui use. But this is only from people I have spoken to, not proper research! However my friends flight got cancelled this week when she was in Malta and she had to get home via Poland, not something I fancy doing with 3 kids!

We're going to try be safe and go into a travel agents today to talk through the better options.

I hope you get something booked OP, and get to have a lovely holiday!

The second one ! Just check coach transfer times from airport and if quoted as longer than 45 mins (usually means it will take over an hour, they are never 45 mins), consider getting a private transfer booked. I took kids with tui in November to Gran Canaria on my own, TUI were brilliant. Enjoy your hols !

Travelplans · 11/06/2022 06:57

The second one has shorter transfer times, the first one is over an hour!

My DH prefers the first one because of the water park attached to it and the cheaper budget, I prefer the second one.

Just seen there's a water park attached to the first one, they don't show that in the photos though which is odd! I prefer hotel rooms though rather than apartments as find sometimes ground floor apartments can be a bit grotty
