Towels - silly question
modge · 09/06/2022 22:13
Forgive a silly question, taking a first holiday to a Spanish resort with DC next month.
We have booked a self-catering apartment and I assume that bathroom towels will be provided but do we need to take pool/beach towels or will these be provided and/or should we buy them there?
Thinking about luggage space and what is best to do, any advice welcome!

Yes, take beach towels. We travel light and use microfibre beach towels which fold to the size of an average paperback book-great invention!

You usually need beach towels. I really rate Dock and Bay towels for space saving and functionality.

We also have Dock and Bay towels. The kids have smaller, Amazon versions but just as good for them.

Hammam towels are great if you want to save space. They can be used for all sorts of other things too - picnic blanket, wrap round you if it’s chilly etc

I'd suggest contacting the property to find out. We've had mixed experiences: beach towels provided; beach towels not provided; beach towels available to rent; beach towels available for a deposit. No-one on here can tell you what is available at your particular accommodation

I would take some beach towels but don’t worry yourself as you can always buy them from a shop nearby .

I’ve got these, they’re great.

We all have Teselate sand free beach towels, they fold into a small bag and are brilliant for the beach/pool.

Ask the property, it varies. We had to take towels last year, but not the year before (different places)

I need to stop looking at threads like these. I've bought both hamman towels and Dock & Bay towels after seeing recommendations on here and how I need Bodhi towels, especially as they're half price and we have Prime for free delivery
So far I like the hamman towels best but we lost one somehow, so tend to use the D&B ones.

I've never stayed anywhere where beach towels have been provided. I've been places where you can hire pool towels (sometimes it's free and you pay a deposit and get it back on return).
We take these, just give them a couple of washes without fabric softener before you go as it makes them more absorbent. Just like large thicker tea towels. Bonus is that the sand doesn't stick.

yes, their are places sometimes where beach towels are provided, but i think we all should take our towels with ourselves , we know what kind of cloth quality suits our skin, as my skin is sensitive i have to take everything with me where ever I go I generally buy my bath and beach towels from newlyfe , they are having
sand free beach towels they are very thin and light weighted and soaks everything and take only few minutes to dry , they are east to carry and can be taken anywhere, these towels are soft on my skin and dries my body within minutes.

As already said, check with the owner.
I've never provided any towels in a Spanish rental property, but make it very clear to clients.
