plans changed may need to go away in August now - where?

Hi, ahh our plans have changed meaning we probably can only go on our holiday in August. That rules out Cyprus, Malta and Greece as too hot (for my Mediterranean blooded family!). So where? Hot is ok but not constantly over 30. Needs to be a country with decent healthcare . I have no idea about the Spanish islands or France for a family holiday. We have quite a few considerations this year so needs are: not crowded but not isolated, near beaches (calm rather than surf beaches), self catering, nice town nearby for evening strolls. Kids are 12 and 14. Pre kids I liked Ibiza when I went on my own but possibly too crowded in August? Thank you

Can't help really but my own (half Mediterranean!!) kids are the same and I've been looking at Madeira which seems to be a fairly constant 25 degrees including in August. Understand it's not proper beaches though which is a shame for us too.

Plage des Marinières in Villefranche-sur-Mer
Saint-Jean de Luz
Argelès-sur-Mer

Madeira has one or two sandy beaches, both admittedly pretty small, but it does have man-made rock swimming pools which are nice to use, with changing facilities and cafes etc.

And the Ardeche in France, south of Lyon, has good river swimming and you can go kayaking and canyoning too. I'm sure there'll be a good number of camp sites around. It can get pretty hot there though

Canaries are cooler than mainland Spain and Balearics at that time of year.

I like Lanzarote in Aug as you normally get a decent breeze and it's a dry heat.
Place like Greece in Aug I now find unbearable.
