Canary Islands in October

I am hoping to take my teen/young adult daughters for a relaxed sunny holiday in October. I’ve never been to the Canaries but I understand it is the place to go for sun in October. Does anyone have any recommendations for nice hotels/
resorts? Fairly budget, please, if possible. Any advice or tips would be appreciated, thanks.

Portugal agreed was wet in October!

When I went to Gran Canaria about 4 years ago we kept getting told the west of the island was lovely and getting tourism.

Tenerife - iberostar Bougainville playa was lovely! We went last October

Have you considered the Red Sea area instead? Warmer to swim!

Avoid fuerteventura. Far too windy and it’ll be too cold to swim at that time of year.

I was also going to suggest the Red Sea if you just want warm sea and a relaxing holiday. Something like the Jaz Aquamarine in Hurgharda.

The sea isn't that warm in the Canaries. You've a risk of stormy or less hot weather in the Med even though the sea might be slightly warmer, but the Red Sea is likely to be warmer and better weather.

Or go somewhere like inland Andalucia (Seville or Granada) where you have city break attractions and can also laze around a hotel garden in probably decent weather and you could find a hotel with a pool that should be an OK temperature to cool off if it's still hot.

When we wanted to go away in October a lot of recommendations were for the Greek Islands for sun/heat and no storms.

We literally scoured all over looking for decent weather and discounted most places (Sicily etc) as they have thunderstorms that time of year.

You could try Cape Verde for October as the weather will be lovely but not much to do outside of the hotels.
We are going to turkey for October half term the weather should still be nice and warm and we are staying in a hotel with heated pools.

Where did you end up going and what was the weather like?

We did Lanzerote and Cyprus in October. I must say, I much prefer Cyprus.

We had a day rain in both cases and roughly the same temperatures, Cyprus may have been a bit hotter. But I found Cyprus nicer and more to do and see.

We went to Tenerife in April and found it more interesting than Lanzarote.

That's great thanks I was thinking south Tenerife myself but good to have Cyprus in the mix too.
