sorry to hijack - but I want to take dd1 to london for the first time this spring - she will be 6 and wants to go to the museums! Trouble is dd2 will be 2.9 and I'm worried she'll be bored and grabbing stuff she shouldn't and we'll all get stressed - is it hands on at all in the natural history museum or science museum??

The Science Museum has just revamped their interactive area - not been yet but it was good before, although a bit packed at times.

The Garden is the area designed for younger children and consists of interactive activities generally involving water and noise:

If you are able to go in term time, I was advised by one of the staff to go after 3.30pm - it's much quieter as that's when all the school trips leave.
