Disney holiday chat

Hey
Anyone got a disney holiday booked??
If so which of the 6 parks have you chosen?
We're going to DLP at the end of august. Was meant to go for my aunties 50th, DD3s first trip at halloween and a work day trip but all were cancelled 🙃 Its 3years tomorrow since I was last there.

Ive also got a california trip in the planning. Will start saving in september. Think OH wants to go in 2024 but the year after is their 70th anniversary and then we'll have more spending money and can upgrade our flights. Both girls would have done their GCSEs by then too.

We considered Florida but because we'll have to get someone to have the younger 3 we can only go for 1week and I feel this would only be an introduction to the parks.

So anyone wanna chat disney trips with me??

Very exciting! Have just booked too for Easter 2023 - had to get over the eye-watering cost of flights and that was Tampa, not Orlando! Haven't sorted anything out yet re: accommodation/Parks but we will probably do a week a universal/Disney and then head back up to Clearwater way. Probably 4 days at universal & three at Magic Kindgom (which I loved - lol), Epoct and a water park.

Went 5 years ago and it was an incredible holiday. Stayed at what is now the Signia by Hilton at Bonnet Creek but now want to stay half way between Universal & Disney. DCs are 14 & 12 so need a decent sized room. Was looking at the Universal Endless Summer Surfside as they do a one bed-suite but apparently the walls are paper thin! I am monumentally controlling fussy about hotels so I need the right one!

Where are you staying OP?

I was looking at the room options at universal and they looked really good. You can basically get 3 rooms that are linked together which would be good for the 7 of us. I'd love to stay at the hard rock hotel.
My 1st choice resort would be art of animation-I like lots of theming so you can tell you're in a disney hotel rather than any hotel anywhere.
In paris we're staying in sequoia lodge, golden forest club lakeside rooms(the best ones they do basically, NY was out of our price range at £5k for 2 basic rooms and we stayed at newport last time).
For california I'm thinking the paradise pier hotel as its getting rethemed at the moment and I don't think I'd like the grand californian.

@victoriaaurora funnily enough I just started a thread about the outrageous pricing ha!

We’ve booked Florida for this July. I’ve spent weeks now manically planning and organising every detail like a military operation and yet still feel completely unprepared! It’s our first time with children, but I have been 5 times before. Last time was 11 years ago though so a lot has changed.

We went to DW for 3 days at Easter whilst visiting family in Florida. Would really recommend paying for Genie plus and understanding how it all works in advance. Yes it costs more but saves so much queueing.

@Pl242

Yes we’ve paid for Genie+. We’ve also upgraded our car and insurance, paid for premium seats with priority boarding and check-in, as well as fast track security! It all adds up and it’s a ridiculous amount we’re spending, but we are highly unlikely to be able to do it again so we’re doing it all to make it the best we can. I’m sure it can be done much cheaper than we are!

Just got back! I would go to universal again In say 5 years time but not sure I could face disney again. I enjoyed typhoon lagoon, animal kingdom is fabulous and hollywood studios a great park. I was knocked out by the theming in the star wars area at DHS and Pandora at DAK. Planning on watching avatar as it was like being in the movie. If I could just get a pass for DAK and DHS plus the waterparks I'd consider staying onsite for those.

So I guess my dream now is 4 days universal, a week at clearwater beach and 4 days at disney but not for 5 years.

Florida is very hot and humid in May and June. I'd look at going in October/ November. Or February.
