Would a summer holiday in Cornwall be better in June or September?

We are planning to go to Cornwall for a week but I’m not sure whether to go in June or September (avoiding July and August due to cost).
I was thinking June would have much longer days but September would have a warmer ocean for beach days.
Which is normally better?

The sea will definitely be much warmer in September. Before kids we always went for the 1st week after schools go back. A good chance of warm weather that way although there's always a good chance of rain too!

There are loads of festivals on in September

I grew up there and I would say that generally the weather is better in June. September has a much higher chance of Atlantic gales. As always with cornwall there's no guarantee! The sea will be warmer but it never gets really warm so it's marginal!

end of June is best. weather in september is very variable.

Do you mean this year? Everywhere is very booked up.

I would personally pick September but both are lovely.

As you say June will have the benefit or lighter evenings which is a benefit..

but September is often very mild in Cornwall. In fact I don't like it when it's too hot out so again I would pick September.

September will be quieter than June.

I am not sure what availability there will be in June now though.. very last minute now.

I life here. Summer holidays are manic but it's still somewhat busy in between the school holidays too!

June is best for wild flowers and hedgerows. It’s a colourful time to visit!!
