Kenya in July

HI, I wondered if anyone has been to Kenya in July. I'm going for work and thought I'd bring my teenage girls with me. They want a beach holiday. Lamu for three nights (although the girls will presumably have to cover up?). I went years ago and it was sticky and overcast in July and we couldn't snorkel (the water was cloudy). We also thought of going to Malindi but I've been put off by learning that it rains quite off in July and there's seaweed. Are they likely to be hassled?

We stayed in Diani in July - it was lovely, hot but not unbearable (apparently it is very hot and humid in April), though there was a bit of cloud some of the time. We snorkelled on a reef from a boat, somewhere further south down the coast, an hour or so's drive. Proper corals and fish like you see on telly. It was incredible.

Ah sorry OP just read that you're going to be in Lamu - other end of the coast! Sorry, my info my well be useless then!
