Taxi at Palma airport
Justfivemoreminutesplease · 25/05/2022 21:32
Am travelling to Majorca and wondered if anyone could tell me if taxis are easily available at the airport?
I’m headed up to the North of the island.
I’ve seen somewhere that Uber and the like are illegal there.
Thanks

There are plenty taxis but I booked a transfer through holiday extras which was slightly cheaper.

Yes, tonnes of taxis. Not the cheapest. Uber isn't really a thing. You could try Cabify which is similar - not sure if available on the islands - and you need to book at least two hours in advance. Or Free Now.
Disclaimer: I don't live there but seem to remember using Free Now last time we went.

I usually find a local transfer company by looking on TripAdvisor forum for the resort I'm going to.

Just back from Palma at the weekend - loads of taxis. A bit of a que for them but was super oragsinsed with a dispatcher putting people in taxis

We always prebook with shuttlespaintransfers.com which takes away the pain of having cash on us, or giving directions, and is one less thing to think about.

I'm from Palma. As PP have said: as you exit the terminal, there's a signposted taxi rank with lots of taxis waiting. There's a marshal who controls the queue and signs people to the next available taxi. Prices are regulated and are displayed on a board. Taxi fares aren't cheap but that's the case in general, airport pick up has an added extra fee. I always pay cash and recommend you have some on you.

As others have said, there are loads of taxis, BUT bear in mind that there are no 5/6 seater or more. We went recently with 5 of us, and the dispatcher was adamant that 5 seater+ wasn’t an option. Was very expensive to get two cabs 😬

Ahh brilliant - much appreciated and thanks all 😎
