Does my baby have to be registered with a birth certificate before applying for a passport ?

The registrars have a back log and my appointment isnt till june ( 2 and a half months after giving birth to her !)

Will it come in time for a holiday in September?

You do need the birth certificate I am afraid. And your passport details.

It's up in the air at the moment with HMPO. It took me two weeks to get my baby a passport and three to renew my daughter's. But it took 14 weeks to get mine!

Oh wow! That’s quite a wait! We sent off for DD’s passport today, she’s 7 weeks old and was registered on Friday. We needed to provide birth certificate, our passport numbers and of course photo.
