where would be a good place to book a hotel?
I am finding it difficult to work out where would be an attractive place for the parents to be on a city break.It is impossible to work out from a map.

Napoli is truly beautifull totally agree, just not the right time.

what are you talking about slim22? certainly no hurt feelings here. it wasn't directed at people's taste (and napoli is certainly a place not for everyone), just annloyed when people are narrow minded, that's all.

From Naples you can get the Circumvesuviana train, which also stops at Herculaneum and Pompeii to Sorrento and from Sorrento there are buses that go along the coast to the lovely coastal towns - would recommend Positano or Amalfi.

It really is a beautiful coast - and there are trips back to Pompeii - or just get the train back - it's very easy...

(Pippi - presume you are the same Pippi - did you go to Calabria or Apulia last simmer?)

I am the same one, I think .Calabria. To a place called Ricadi near tropea.

You can stay in Salerno and still have access to all the sites - Pompeii, Amalfi, Versuvio, etc. But it's not a 'great' city like Napels or Sorrento
