Passport names

Hey I'm new to this and fretting.
Sent for passports 12 weeks ago. My daughters 1st passport. Can we holiday with different surnames?
She's double barrelled due to my ex but he's long gone

Can't get permission off him have no contact with him.
Has anyone had any issues please.. desperate we fly in a month

Bring birth certificate with you. I've never had any problems. Legally you need his written permission but in 10 years we have been to loads of places and never been asked any questions

The flight ticket has to be the same name as in the passport.

Exactly the same as @trevthecat - take the birth certificate and you should be fine. I carry a permission letter from DH every year and have never been asked for it in 8 years. I have always been asked on our way back into the UK but the birth certificate is all they want to see. As you share part of her surname, you may not even be asked.
