How much spending money per day - Orlando

My DH, DS (1yr old) and I are going on holiday to Orlando, Florida this Autumn for 17 nights. Would appreciate knowing from those with experience how much we should budget on average for spending money per day? Flights, accommodation, park tickets and car hire all already paid for so would like ideas excluding those things. In case it is relevant, we are going as part of a larger family group but I'd like to know what we, as our little unit, should be budgeting. Also appreciate that some days we will spend more and some less so just looking for an average amount. We have a self catering villa so will be a mixture of eating out and home cooking and would like to be able to do extra activities and spending (I'd put us in the middle in terms of attitude to spending, not budget or frugal but definitely not luxury or frivolous). Thanks!

We went as a family of 3 just before covid striked in 2020 and we easily spent an average of $400 day. We bought all passes for Disney, theme parks etc in advance.

We also did a mixture of home cooking and eating out but I found that we rarely ate the home cooking and prefer to just go out and enjoy.

Thanks this is really helpful, I reckon we will end up being the same in relation to eating out / cooking!

What parks are you doing and how many days in parks?
Quick-service meals at DW usually cost $15-$20 each for adults, and. reasonable snack budget is $10 per person per day, which allows one or two treats like Dole Whip or pretzels.
Prices for table service restaurant vary widely. I’d say they average at about $40 per person per meal, not including alcohol. A pint of beer costs around $9, and specialty cocktails can cost $15 or more.
DW allows guests to carry food into the parks, so you can make something easy like sandwiches and bring them with you.
Hope this helps.

We had a villa when we went and what we did was go to theme park every other day. The day at the villa we would either go out for breakfast or dinner or get a takeaway. The 4 of us it would cost £125 each day. If we ate at the theme parks we tended to have food to share. We would take our own water bottles to save buying water at the water parks. Do your research on restaurants that do all you can eat.

Don't forget if you're not staying on-site you have to pay for parking each day - I think it was $20 a day. Plus any toll roads etc

Also remember tipping is 20% in sit down restaurants. I would have a wee look at some of the restaurants you think you're going to go to in order to get an idea. For my husband and I for 2 weeks we are planning 1k spending. However we do have some Disney dining credit so that will help a bit.

Myself and my 2dc (aged 17 and 14) go to Florida this Christmas I have budgeted $200 per day for food for us all and any spending money for me. We are staying onsite at Disney do also have $800 dining credit and $200 gift card as part of our booking deal which will help.

We took money for clothes each, and for actual spending we took £300 dollars for each day some days we didn’t spend it all so just kept putting it in for the next day other days we spent a bit more but we never held back we really enjoyed ourselves we were 2 adults and a 20 month old,we are thinking about booking again for June but now have another child so I’m trying to budget that 😂now

We do 150 a day, but we don't eat in the parks. We take water bottles, have a large breakfast and then eat out in the evening offsite (we don't stay at Disney).

I have just been. I would say at least £150-£200 a day. One day we ate two meals in the parks and spent nearly £400 but that was a huge deal for us - ate at the Be Our Guest restaurant. If you haven’t already booked I would recommend that but it is expensive! The Tuskers restaurant in Animal Kingdom is also great if you would like to meet characters, would highly recommend that one. Otherwise even quick service is not cheap in Disney, we probably paid £40-£50 for those types of meals. It’s a very expensive holiday but magical!!
