Anyone travelled recently on a passport older than ten years?

I know that the rules have changed and I need to have 3 months within expiry but also 10 year from issue date.
I will be a few days past the ten years when I want to travel but with 8 months left after expiry. The news only reports the people who have been refused travel but are there people who have been let in?
I can’t get a new passport on the one-day system as no appointments at all.
I’m wondering if I turn up might I get lucky?
Eurotunnel not airport.

Even if you did manage to get past the checks somehow, what would you do if you weren't allowed back in?

fine to get back into uk as they don’t require the 10 year rule I think.

I certainly wouldn't risk it. Not worth the stress.

No. Nobody has, because you can't and all the airlines are enforcing the rules. They get fined if they don't.
