Hello, we normally do self catering but with small kids we bit the bullet and have booked a week at an all inclusive for the summer holidays in Europe. Looks like a typical AI resort with several restaurants, pools, kids club, evening entertainment etc. Youngest is 2 so hoping we can all join her for an afternoon nap to beat the worst of the heat and enjoy the evening.

I would be super grateful if anyone has top tips for this sort of holiday - what to pack, how to make the most of the activities etc? Am a total newbie! Thank you

AI is fab for families.
No worries about wasting expensive restaurant meals on faddy children.
No waiting an hour after ordering for the food to be served.
Snacks, ice creams and pop all day.

It's not what I would choose now but it was perfect when I had DC aged 10 to 14.

One thing. If you're not careful meals end up a rush with not everyone sat eating at the same time as they are all wandering round the buffet at different speeds.
I tried to organise to avoid that.
Also greedy teenage boys will pile everything on their plate - pasta, chips, rice, curry, fish, meat. Try not to have everything at once,
and make one meal!

Entertainment usually a bit naff but probably ok for tinies.

Thank you! Kids are young enough that they won’t be doing their own plates, so we can try and eat together. The cheesier the better for the entertainment as far as my kids are concerned, I intend to be enjoying the AI cocktails at the time 😅
