Dress code...

Are have booked a hotel in Kefalonia in August half board. White rocks. Can't wait and it looks lovely. Some of the reviews moan about the dress code for evening meal. Men in trousers etc. this is fine and DH will cope eating in trousers! However we have a 13 boy and 15 girl. Will I have to get him in trousers and smart shoes?! He lives in shorts and flip flops. My question is does the smart dress code at these hotels extend to children? I will get a couple of short sleeves shirts but seems a bit bonkers kitting him out in fancy stuff for a week.

Why not messages the hotel and ask them to clarify this rule. I wouldn't expect a very smart dress code in a warm country so maybe some reviewers have exaggerated that.
I'm sure a 13 year old can manage to wear a pair of trousers for a few nights though.

I think chino shorts on a 13 year old will be absolutely fine.

DH and I went to Kenya and they had a no shorts dress code for dinner. One night we went straight to dinner after a day out and he'd been wearing tailored shorts. They made him wear a sarong!

In my experience, a hotel dress code doesn’t apply to pre-pubescent children. But children who have reached puberty would be expected to follow the dress code.
