Snorkelling in July

Hi all, I'm looking at a snorkelling holiday in July and so far have found Sharm, Crete and Antalya coming up in my searches.

I dont want to go too far afield this time so looking at a short journey time from the UK. Does anyone have any experiences of the above or can you suggest alternatives?

TIA

I’m a diver but do some snorkelling.
Sharm does have some top class snorkelling but check the resort or house reef before booking as some reefs are pretty dead. But will be v v hot in July. Hurghada can have decent reefs as well.
Dont know Crete.
Antalya , v poor, nothing but rocks n grey fish!
I’ve not been but heard good things about Malta/Goza and Tenerife.

Have snorkelled in North majorca. It all looked v pretty to me, water very clear, loads of colourful fishes, but ive no idea how it would rate , as not much to compare with (except kenya, which i would not expect rto match in europe)

Red Sea has a lot more marine life than the med. the canaries and Cape Verde are okay too...but obviously the sea can be much rougher and you need to watch for riptides. But if you are looking for a snorkelling holiday I'd be looking at the Red Sea for colour and diversity.

I've been to a few decent snokelling spots and the red sea is probably the best I've been to (Sharm). This was about 10 years ago so worth checking the marine life hasn't declined.
As someone else has said, July will be ridiculously hot. I think I went in March and it was a good temperature for me.
