Pushchair at Stanstead

Hi, flying soon and first time doing so with a toddler. We're doing hand luggage only and were hoping this would save us some time not having to check in at the desk (have been hearing about all the awful queues) but we do have a pushchair we'd be taking all the way up to the gate as allowed by the airline. Does anyone know if this means we'd have to check it at the desk first anyway to get it tagged before going through security or can we just head straight over without visiting the check in desk? Not really sure how it works with baby equipment.

Thank you in advance!

Generally best to get it tagged at the check in or ´bag drop’ desk. - ´bag drop’ desk should be a shorter wait, as everyone is all checked in already.

You can do either. When you 'check in' let them know you're keeping it and will be taking to the gate. They'll just stick a label on it and you carry on through to security etc

We went away at Easter from Stanstead and I checked in our buggy and didn't take it on the plane. But I've taken it down to the gate previously. The staff could not be more helpful.

Enjoy your flight!

Great, we'll just give it a bit more time and go to bag drop. Thank you so much for confirming!

I've done this several times at Stanstead all recently. Yes you need to get it tagged but it really doesn't take long.

Oh and it's much easier if it's a one peice, fold down buggie, rather than a travel system.

Good to know, thank you! I was a bit worried about it adding time on but sounds like it should be pretty straightforward. We have a quick one hand fold stroller so hopefully will all be pretty simple.
Thanks again.
