Will there be enough of a difference to justify the extra cost? Lanzarote/Mexico

I know in general that sounds silly as of course Mexico is very different to Lanzarote

But with a toddler, for a holiday that will mainly consist of beach days and a few excursions will what we can do be better enough in Mexico to justify paying thousands more than if we were to go to Lanzarote or somewhere cheaper?

It is for a honeymoon, which is why we’re considering going further despite having a toddler in tow (not a real honeymoon I’m aware)

Been to both, have a three year old, we're looking to book Lanzarote later in the year and will go back to Mexico when he's older, we loved swimming in ceynotes, visiting Tulum, Chichen itza , ziplining in the jungle taking one of the little self drive boats out through the mangroves and snorkelling, all in Mexico and DS is too young for a lot of that, so may as well spend less and go to Lanzarote. DS does love volcanoes so that's a bonus for him with Lanzarote.

I’d go to Fuerteventura, the beaches are glorious.

lanzarote. Save Mexico until he's older.

TBH depending on time of year I'd look at Portugal or the Balearics. Shorter flight, totally geared up for little ones, anything or an easy life.

We are doing a Caribbean cruise with our ds who will be 4 while are away. Kids clubs are fantastic, so we might even get a romantic meal in, as is the food/entertainment and we can do a mixture of boat trips/beach days on the islands.

what time of year are you going?

September or October this year is the only time my partner can get time off!

We had a bungalow in lanzarote as a teenager into my early 20’s. I got a late deal on a flight in October one year and I’m sorry to say it was freezing. Tenerife might be a better bet for weather we went last December and it was 25 everyday

Thanks! We went to Lanzarote in October last year and it was gorgeous. Perhaps we just got lucky…

Sept/Oct is possible hurricane season in the Caribbean. Seasons snd rain is unpredictable these days but I would look at Cypress. Crete works at that time of year too. Both have good beaches and nicer than Lanzarotte in my view.

I would save Mexico and Caribbean. Cruise would work but you don’t get to go to the best beaches or smaller islands. They are wonderful!! A cruise ship is a separate holiday - sampling areas as opposed to looking in depth.

Can't comment on your actual question but re the weather, we've been to Lanzarote in October half term, so end October going into November, five times and have never had bad weather apart from once when it rained for about 2 hours (but was still warm). Temperatures always in mid twenties.

We've had amazing weather in the canaries in late October for quite a few years.

Depends what you want to do. Pros - might as well go further now before you're tied into School holidays and I imagine that Mexico will be more exotic than the Canaries , Cons - it's a long flight and costs significantly more.
It's your honeymoon you'll be tied into convenient destinations for many years - I'd go Mexico.
