I may have to stay at Heathrow for an early flight from T5. Any recommendations for convenient hotels?

Thank you.

Are you travelling far to near the airport

PegasusReturns · 10/05/2022 20:22

Sofitel is the nearest and there is a walk way between the hotel and T5.

All the others require you take a taxi/shuttle.

That said they’re all a bit rubbish and although Sofitel is by far the most convenient like the others the restaurant and bar is rubbish.

The Sofitel is actually in T5. Otherwise a Google search will show you plenty of options.

Thanks.

Google did indeed show me many options, none of which were the Sofitel in T5. Sometimes MN is better than Google 😊

@StCharlotte
i have the same query for a late June holiday and extensive googling has just confused me.
its tricky to find a hotel that clearly advises they have a shuttle and/or gives details of length of journey and options from hotel to t5. Many descriptions are very vague and if you dig on Tripadvisor you find comments such as the shuffle no longer exists or it’s a long way from the terminal.
the only hotel I could find actually at t5 is the Sofitel at nearly £200 compared to the others 60-80 ish…
plus there is a selection of quite ‘odd’ options - rooms in shared houses with shared kitchen and bathroom (on booking.com mixed up with the actual hotels)

eagerly following…

Sofitel
If it is BA you can do a twilight check in/bag drop if the flight is before lunchtime
Then just wander through at your lesiure
Sofitel also have parking (£15 a night usually but part of some packages) but they are also part of the T5 short stay car park- so shop around between the 2.

Yup. Totally confusing.

Sofitel is nearly £300 for the night I need. Damn and blast.

Taxi it is then.

We stayed at the Radisson Edwardian on Bath Rd. TfL buses run all day/night to Heathrow Central. We got a taxi (it was to T3) for £20 as I’ve never had any luck with the shuttles.

About 40 mins by cab. For about
the same price as the less convenient hotel options.

A cab it is.

Where are you travelling from, what time do you need to be at the airport, a cab or bus/tube is cheaper than a hotel, we always stay at the Thistle but we live 3 hours away.

Whammyyammy · 11/05/2022 11:45

I always stay in one of the Bath Road big chain hotels. Buses run every 5 or 10 mins to Heathrow bus terminal at T2/T3, then depending on which airline/terminal I use the express.

PAFMO · 11/05/2022 17:22

The Premier Inn on Bath Rd is great. Shuttles running to and from the terminals, no problems.

StCharlotte · 11/05/2022 23:21

Thanks everyone. Fortunately the "crisis" has been averted and I'll be getting a lift as originally planned. Needed to be there for 6.30am and a cab would have been £75 but one of the Ibis hotels was £69 until you add taxi fare to the hotel from the tube, shuttle fees, (public) transport from home etc etc etc. Pity my friends who have a 6.30am flight from Manchester!
