Free child place or cheaper holiday?

Looking to book somewhere for next year.

Needs to be during hols in August as DD going to comp.
I'm open to anywhere from a local airport
It is best to book somewhere with a free child place knowing the holiday is more expensive or book a cheaper holiday.
Eg. Say the holiday is 1k pp if you search for a free child place the holidays are all around £1400pp and above
Do you get a nicer holiday because it's more expensive or have they literally bumped the price up because of the free child place?

I'd just choose the hotel based on reviews and what suits you best. It sounds good getting a child free place but it doesn't necessarily mean a better hotel. It's just there to make you think you've got a better deal. I'd not choose a hotel just because it has a child free place.
