Anyone flown from Manchester airport - what is it REALLY like ?

I am getting myself totally stressed at the thought of the airport check-in process at Manchester, and have seen so many horror stories in the press - by want to know of honest reality of the situation. Due to fly with elderly mum who cannot stand for long, autistic DS and son age 12 - along with hubby who hates flying - we are flying to Corfu - to get on a cruise ship and if the process takes hours - we may miss the flight and cruise, plus I have to keep it all together for everyone (this is a rescheduled holiday booked pre-pandemic). TIA

It's not great! Wasn't the best pre COVID/ Brexit but it's got a lot worse. You may get lucky with security but it's all the different services that are affected. Steps take ages to turn up, waste water wasn't taken off the last plane I was on so the crew decided to fly anyway and we could only use the loo in an emergency! Forget about a quick drink pre flight too.
A friend returned the other night and it took 3 hours to get off the plane and for the bags to turn up.
Sorry, don't mean to be the merchant of doom and gloom.
