Greek holiday resorts

Can anybody recommend a holiday resort in Greece which is busy and bustling, but not a party resort like Laganas, Kavos or Malia?

We enjoyed Puerto Del Carmen in Lanzarote so something with a promenade/beach lined with shops and restaurants would be a bonus.

Kos Town is lovely. Busy, but without the tackiness found in some of the party resorts.

Agios Nikolaos

I was also going to say Kos Town. Similar size to Puerto Del Carmen I would say with a lovely harbour for boat trips, excellent restaurants, okay beach.
Hanioti on mainland Greece, Lindos also Pefkos in Rhodes, Paphos in Cyprus (okay technically not Greece) are all worth checking out

Rethymno in Crete. Gorgeous town with a Venetian harbour, loads of fabulous restaurants.

Another vote for His town. We stayed in Tigaki, but could get the bus there. I hope the man with lots of cats is still there.

Kos not His!

Another vote for Rethymnon here, its pretty harbour and old town are lovely. It's great for day trips too. So much to see on Crete.
