Old passport not sent back

Hi , we received our teens new 10 year passport it took about a month however we haven’t received the old one is this normal ? Or are they taking quite a while to be returned atm

Ours was three weeks later in December

I rang up about this earlier in the week as I was getting worried. They said it was about a 3 week wait for returns but I'm 4 weeks down the line and have had none of my documents back yet. I'm waiting on a call back but honestly not holding out much hope.

I've not had mine back yet and it's about 4 weeks now. Got my new passport in 17 days though. Fortunately there were no supporting documents with my application, so the old, cancelled, passport is the only thing I'm waiting for.

I'm still waiting for my DD3's old cancelled one back six weeks after the renewal application. The new passport arrived within 3 weeks. Peterborough office.

I don't suppose it is an essential document, but they always used to return stuff fairly quickly. For us there was no other supporting documentation. Fortunately.

Hello OP I received my new passport exactly 3 weeks but my old one took 7 weeks to come back.

Looks like it's taking 5 weeks for Bootle. I received new passport 5 weeks ago and got a message yesterday to say old docs had just been dispatched.

Recently renewed mine and the old one took over 1 month to come back

Dds came back today, just over a month after we got the new one through.

Old one took about a month here. As it’s been cancelled to issue the new one it’s not a big deal though.
