Hi,

Does anyone know if Heathrow Terminal 5 has a dedicated check-in and security area for families, if so where it would be?

thanks

Check-in zone E is the 'family zone' i.e. it caters for more over size baggage such as car seats and pushchairs etc.

There's no dedicated security unless you have status / are flying business or first.

There definitely used to be a family bag drop, a staff member tried to direct me to it once but I declined as the queue where I was wasn’t anywhere near long enough to warrant the walk over there. If it’s still there then it was over by the outsized baggage at zone E. No idea on family security but if they do have it then my advice would be to avoid it like the plague, unless you like being stuck in a queue where everyone has special liquid items e.g. formula and needs to wait for it to go through the dedicated liquid scanner.

There are family lanes in the T5 security area that security can use if they want to but there is no such dedicated check in and or family area.
