Has anyone used Turkish Airlines for a long haul, with a stop over at Istanbul? Our next option after this is Qatar. Thank you

Yes I have. What is your question or concern?

FWIW, the flights were without incident, polite cabin crew and good food. Istanbul airport is huge and very modern.

Just that I've never used them before, let alone long haul so just wanted some perspective on how they are, sear sizes, leg length etc

I have used them quite a lot. Perfectly happy.

Qatar airways is a class above Turkish.

I vowed never to travel Turkish again after a disastrous trip, but that was mainly due to the absolute horrors behind me who spent the whole 4 hours intimidating me (flying solo with 2 kids). The seats aren't the comfiest, the old airport was a maze. The flight crew were amazing.

I flew Turkish last winter
And I'm doing it again next month

Their fleet is pretty new, the service was excellent and the food some of the best I've had in the air

I'd choose them over BA
Never been Qatar but have heard good things

Turkish was fine, if unremarkable. Qatar is excellent.

If you're only changing flights and not leaving the hub airport, Doha is massively calmer and more spacious than Istanbul airport.

I like Turkish airlines and they are pretty good at what they do. Food, in flight entertainment, cleanliness and staff are pretty good. The airport was good as well.

Why not look them up on the Flyertalk forum - you'll get much more responses.

I just came on to ask the same question! We have booked a holiday to the Maldives and the flight is via Istanbul with Turkish Airline. Looks like they appear to be ok

I’d probably go with Qatar they are outstanding. I have been with Turkish airlines previously and they were good too, but I’ve had friends and family over the last 6 months who’s flights were cancelled last minute and they had a lot of problems. Also friends were stranded in Istanbul in December during a stop over due the weather.
