Dog free! Where to go?!

Hi all! We have got 2/3 days with our pup in local kennels at the end of Aug and looking at what we can do to make the most of our time away with a 9 and a 12 year old... we had hoped to go abroad for. week but had left it too late with the kennels. Any ideas up to 2/3 hours from Bath that would be awesome for days or trips out with the kids.. preferably ideas that would be tricky with a dog to make the most of our time off! Thanks in advance!

I’d go to London if dog free and do lots of touristy things like the Tower of London, London eye, a musical, natural history or science museum, Tate modern, boat ride along the Thames etc (at least that’s what we’re doing when we’ve got two nights dog free over half term!). Staying in the premier inn near the Tate modern.

Oxford? We've managed to nab a few nights at kennels for our pup in August and that's where we're headed to, ds is 11 and is most excited about the museum of natural history and the Pitt Rivers museum. We're also going to do a day trip to Blenheim Palace, and visit the Cotswold Wildlife Park and Crocodiles of the World on the way there/back. We're staying at the Premier Inn by Oxford airport (with free parking) and using the public bus to get into the city.
