We'll be staying in the UK again next year I think as we are saving up for a special trip for my big five oh, but funnily enough I was on Airbnb earlier for Easter next year...

2033! Wow!

PumpkinPie2016 · 05/05/2022 17:41

Well, we have taken the plunge and booked Austria for next year. Got confirmation from the hotel today eek!

It will be the first time our 8 year old son has been abroad so we are really looking forward to it. Got plenty of time to save up now.

Just need flights for Aug 2023 to be released now 😊

reluctantbrit · 05/05/2022 21:19

DD. has GCSE exams next year so we wait for the exact dates being announced as we hope for a. short trip as. soon as she is finished.

Looking at small city trips for Easter to give her a break during revision but otherwise nothing. until July.

We are off to Nerja in June for two weeks, we had hoped to go to Prague, but the the Ukrainian situation maybe not, we are booking Rome for April May time 2023, then three weeks in Nerja 2023, as a ramp up to staying a month and more in 2024.

We retire this year.........can you tell. Grin

Nerja is obviously a big favourite!! What is the appeal? I don’t know Spain very well .

We've booked Cape Verde for January and a cruise for May 2023

Which operator for Cape Verde if you don’t mind me asking?

Harridan1981 · 05/05/2022 22:20

We went to Cape Verde with Tui

Startuplife · 05/05/2022 22:26

I’ve got a wedding in Turkey next July which I need to book flights for and then maybe a week somewhere else we can easily fly to from the wedding.
I’ve never booked flights this far in advance before, how do you all find out when they’ll be released? Is it just a case of checking every day?
And if anyone has any suggestions for a relaxing beach holiday within an easy flight of Istanbul I’m all ears.

We’ve booked AI to the Tui Holiday Village in Rhodes for 2033. It’s supposed to be their flagship HV and we’re going to the Mallorca one this year.

Ridiculously expensive but goddammit I’ve not left this country since 2013!

We're going there this year. Can't wait!

Ginger1982 · 06/05/2022 20:45

We've booked for Cyprus for July 2023.

Flights normally can't be booked more than 11 months in advance, although maybe that's changed since Covid.

We were looking at a special trip for both our significant birthdays next year. This year is £2500 pp but I later noticed that 2023 is from £4000 pp! I suppose they're expecting higher demand but dammit!

We went to florida for Easter this year and now we've been abroad. I want to get back to having an abroad holiday booked at all times 😀

We did the same and I’m keen to get something booked for next year now as a result. Don’t want to go through pre-departure testing again though!

Have a family wedding in France this August, using our Eurostar vouchers from cancelled 2020 trip.

Never heard of Nerja, looks lovely..

We really liked the temp at that time of year. It was hot, mid to late 20ies but with enough of a breeze to be comfortable for me. We went to Boa Vista, which is very barren and empty, not much outside of the hotels. Lovely for what we wanted which was a classic fly and flop as we were just knackered tbh, but if we go next year may try another island.

I think it would be too hot for me in the summer.

My friend went to cape Verdi in the middle of summer. She said it was windy enough to keep it cool

EdgeOfSeventeenAndThreeQuarter · 08/05/2022 08:33

I’ve just booked olu deniz in turkey for next summer. First “proper” holiday since 2011 and my kids will NEVER have experienced temperatures like that. 😂 chose this resort because I was there 25 years ago and because I’m a single parent, I find comfort in the familiarity. Wanted to go back to the same hotel, but of course the resort is much more built up now so we’re going a bit out of town to somewhere described as having “no night life, nothing to do at night”. Get in!

booked with TUI who were doing a £200 discount for single parents - so ended up being £500 off overall and I got a great price from a small regional airport which will make all the difference for my ND kids - they wouldn’t cope with Heathrow.

WIBU to try and arrange a mini-reunion with all the people I met there all those years ago?

uggmum · 08/05/2022 08:39

@PineMartenPeanutbutter
You will find that TUI have a complete monopoly on Cape Verde.

They are virtually the only carrier. Likely to be a Dreamliner.

I would recommend the new Riu palace, Santa Maria.

Notateacheranymore · 08/05/2022 08:45

We have booked Canada Vancouver to Toronto for Sept 2023 with Great Rail as it’s our Silver WA in August. I am so excited. Never been further than Canaries in the Atlantic, whereas DH is ex-RAF so he’s been a bit.

We went to Austria in 08 with the same company for our 10th and loved it. Can’t wait!!!

P0larexpress · 09/05/2022 08:22

So good to be able to book things again and travel more or less unrestricted!

we are going to Greece soon. Have lots more booked up for this year, and looking at what we fancy for next year.

I really fancy taking the ferry to Santander in Spain and staying around that area. Prices look extortionate though!
anyone done this?
