Silver wedding anniversary trip

We will be celebrating our silver wedding in November and want to celebrate with a lovely holiday somewhere for about a week.

What I really really wanted to do is booked up - trip on Orient express overnight to somewhere in Europe - and the season sort of ends around that time anyway until March.

Have considered the Blue Train in South Africa (where we had our honeymoon) but we’ll be leaving 15 year old dd with friends and I feel a bit uncomfortable being so far away.

Any other suggestions? I’m not keen on boats so no cruises!

Trip to Istanbul? Europe and Asia in one city.

Ours is next summer. Honeymoon was Channel Islands so we'll probably go back there. I would love to go somewhere like Maldives/Mauritius but like you would be leaving teen dc home alone, plus beach holidays are dh's nightmare anyway sadly. Dh might go further afield if dc could come with but I'd rather it was just the 2 of us. I think?!

The Northern Lights in Iceland or Norway

For our silver wedding we drove the romantic road in Bavaria and stopped in a different town each night (7 nights). We love Munich but had not explored beyond there previously. So many gorgeous towns we visited and would highly recommend it.
Our kids were similar age and left with family so for the same reason we did a trip in Europe.

Oohh I like the sound of Iceland! A luxury hotel is a must!

Bear in mind that your daylight hours will be limited in November in Iceland.

Yes good point. What time does it get dark in the afternoon?

Depends when in November!
