Hi. We're looking for any adivce, insights to help with planning our holiday. We've managed to get 6 weeks to take our children travelling. We do not have a big budget so will be backpacking but want to really give our kids an insight into the history, food, way of life. We were thinking of trying to travel through Laos, Cambodia and then spend sometime in Koh Tao.

Do people think this is possible in 6 weeks?
Has anybody done this or something similar - any tips / advice?
Are there any specific places people would suggest? We'd through trying to do hill walking in the north of Laos, but not sure where, Angkor Wat but please give me any other ideas.
We had thought about trying to go to Vietnam but think this may be too much in 6 weeks?
All thoughts ideas are really really appreciated. Massive thanks in advance😀

I didn't have children at the time but we did a similar trip in six weeks and included Thailand.
Can't remember the specific timings
Flew into Bangkok stayed for three days. Flew down to Koh Samui and stayed for 5 days.
Flew to Hanoi and stayed a few days. Loved Hanoi more than Bangkok, but crossing the road was an experience, went to the war museum think your age children would love that!
Then onto Hoi An for beach markets cooking course and getting pyjamas made by the local tailors.
From Hoi An we went to Ho Chi MInh for a couple to nights(wouldn't bother with this) and then onto Laos . (Luang Prabang) which was an amazing experience. We then went to Cambodia onto Angkor Watt and finally back to Bangkok before we flew home.
All in 6 weeks because I was on my summer holidays from school. It didn't feel to rushed . Just check visas before you go we ended up having to stay in Bangkok an extra night as our visas weren't ready for Vietnam.
