Greek island hopping

Looking for some ideas for Greek island hopping as a family (one teen and one under 10), for around 10-14 nights.
Don't want it to get too pricey, and it doesn't need to be too many islands. Would like to explore on most days but have some nice hotel options to be able to spend the odd day chilling around the pools.
It's likely to be July/August (not this year).

We’ve enjoyed Mykonos, to Syros and Tinos. There’s only about 30 mins between the islands by ferry, and you could add in Andros.

We flew into Athens and spent a couple nights there before taking a ferry. Something you might want to consider including if you've not been there before.

Santorini was an island we had to include in our trip.
