Single dad with kids - destination advice

Hello

I am a single dad of two boys, who will be 8 + 11 this summer. We have never had a holiday abroad together, but finally we have the chance this summer.

I had considered the East coast of the US, as it has everything my kids like, and is manageable as a single dad without driving: theme/water parks, adventure parks, aerospace museums. I did a flight + hotel search and quickly realised that I won't be able to afford the travel and accommodation (£2100 for 7 nights, with flights)

Can anyone suggest a destination that has some of the activities mentioned above and would be manageable for a single parent, and be significantly cheaper than £2000.

Thank you so much :)

Somewhere on Costa Dorada / Costa Azahar in Spain? You have PortAventura World which also has a water park if I’m not mistaken, and Aquarama is not too far. Not sure how doable it is to go between the two on public transport but you could stay in Reus which is next to PortAventura and will have quick connections for Tarragona and Barcelona for museums.

Look up Tui Splashworld holidays - they are all inclusive holidays with a water park on site. Lots of different destinations to choose from.

Maybe Duinrell in the Netherlands? You can stay for a week and have access to the theme and waterpark on site. It's a long time since I've been though, so no idea of the current cost.

I am sure Spain or one of the large European camp sites would be great
