Anyone been to Sri Lanka recently?

DS is planning to travel there in a couple of weeks time. I know there has been some instability and wondered if it is affecting the tourist industry at all.

FCO advice not very clear on this.

Looks like the local currency has tanked, power outages are a real problem as are food shortages.

They probably welcome tourism because it's valuable sterling/dollars/euros into the economy. I wouldn't be happy with my child going on holiday to a country on the verge of a tipping point, although if they were an adult there's little I could do to dissuade I suppose.
