Hello,

Could anyone please let me know if you do require day 3-5 covid tests in USA for unvaccinated children. Ages 4 & 3.

Thanks

We are in the states at the moment with an unvaccinated 12 yr old . You have to sign the attestation form (we used the VeriFLY app, really easy) stating that you will test day 3-5. You don’t report the test anywhere.

Yes you are required to test them 3-5 days after arrival….. however, you don’t need to report the result anywhere. We just took a couple of tests with us, tested the kids and took a photo of the test.

We were not asked to provide any proof or evidence of having done this at any point. I am on a lot of Florida travel groups and I haven’t heard of anyone being asked about this. I imagine a lot of people are not bothering now.

I just did an NHS one both times we have been - simply so if asked (never was) I could confirm that I had indeed taken it.

Thanks so much for your help. I'll take some lateral flows with me.

Just got back from States with two small kids. Above is correct. We took tests but completely forgot to do them. No one asked us about it at any stage.

Such tests are only advisory as per the CDC and not mandatory to do. No one checks whether you’ve done them.

As per the posters above. We’ve been in the States for 10 days and it’s not been mentioned by anyone. I’d read about the advisory before we came away. LFTs are widely available in drugstores if anyone does question it, I think they’re around 10 dollars ish. At least they have been on the Las Vegas strip - might be cheaper elsewhere!

There's still plenty of places in California offering free LFTs/PCRs. LAX is offering a package of two free LFTs and a confirmation PCR when you land at Tom Bradley. Don't know where you are going but it's worth a Google
