Birthday treat away with girlfriends in April? Where?

Easy to get to from Scotland. So somewhere lots of airlines fly to. Max 3/3.5 hours flight. 3 nights.

Sunshine mid April, walks, history, restaurants, views, shopping. Older town rather than modern bling. Quite chilled rather than party central. Thinking a room each so better a 3 bed apartment.

So far (based on flights) thinking Palma/north Mallorca or southern Spain (not sure where though)

Thanks!

Palma is absolutely beautiful so definitely recommend that. Other than that what about Murcia in Spain? Not exactly the south but should be warm!

Malta?

I think Spain in mid April could be risky weather wise, it's been awful this year. I'd head further south, Gran Canaria, Lanzarote.

Thanks. We don’t mind not having a swim in a pool just not rain for three days. Canaries too far for 3 nights.

I’d heard bad things about Malta. Anyone been?

Yeah I've been to Malta my mum lived there it is boring and the local men are very rude. Not somewhere I'd pay to go away to.

Alicante or Valencia (even better) if you can get there. They both have the feel of an older town whilst having plenty of restaurants and activities / sights to choose from.

Barcelona is very similar but I’d avoid it during Easter weekend or other Spanish public holidays. I love the city but it can get very busy and full of tourists. I’d just try to go outside of any local holidays.

I'd fly to Malaga and then look for something. Malaga itself is lovely, Marbella old town. Granada, Nerja. It should be nice during the day but you might want a cardie in the evening. The easter processions in Andalucia are fabulous.

Palma, hands down.
