Passport

Needing some advice from anyone that’s been in same situation. Last month we sent away my for my sons first adult passport (he had a child passport previous) a couple of weeks later they asked for his birth certificate as it was his dad that done application. Now today we got a letter to say he needs to counter sign the letter and send it back to them with certain documents that he doesn’t have yet ie bank statement driving licence! Can’t even find a child benefit letter in my house, so phoned them to send a letter out as it will have name and address on it, he needs 2 documents so would a letter with national insurance number be enough? Sorry if I’m rambling on abit… stressed to the max! Thanks

What age is he?
It should have been done as a renewal rather than first adult passport if he had a child passport already. I can't see why they need all that other info

He is 17 was 16 when we done application as renewal we gave all his child passport detail etc, Ano we don’t no why we have to give all this extra info, we are waiting for a letter from child benefit and have a letter with his national insurance number they were asking for 2 more documents along with my son signing the form they sent to prove it’s him. So annoying

He shouldn't need all that. I'd try and speak to someone else at the passport office. All he should need is a new photo and the old passport

Agree this is a renewal not a first adult passport application.

He sent his old passport and gave new photo, do you think it because his dad filled the application in for him, and because he’s a certain age they are just looking for proof that it’s actually my son?
