Passport supporting documents - will they ever come back?

Renewed DD's passport recently. Took about 6-7 weeks for the new passport to arrive, however two weeks on and we still haven't got the supporting documents back. It's a big deal because I had to send off her German passport with the application and I really need that back now. Worried it has got lost!

How long did you have to wait for the supporting documents after your passport arrived? And is there a number I can call and ask/complain?

was going to ask the same thing! u.k. passport arrived this morning but still waiting on dual passport. been loving the passive aggressive emails updates ending with ‘please do not contact us’

I got baby’s birth certificate back on Saturday and the passport itself isn’t here yet.

I had paid the extra to have it return tracked, though?

DS’s new U.K. passport arrived about two weeks before his other valid passport arrived back. I was getting concerned too and was about to phone and it finally came. Give it time, it should come soon.

I was about a month before my old passport and marriage certificate were returned to me.

Last week my old passport arrived about a week after my new passport.

End of last year documents from DS' new passport application came about a fortnight after the passport

Hmm seems to vary a lot. Phoned them today and was told three weeks. I payed for tracked delivery too but they said they couldn’t track it?!

My dd's came back just under a week after her passport.

DD’s birth certificate came back after 3 weeks. It’s been 3 months and US passport has not come back, nor will home office engage. What will we tell US embassy?

OMG @Empressofthemundane that is the nightmare I’m worried about! So they are not interested in the fact they’ve lost her other passport??

following, applied for DS renewal and it came back 10 days ago but no sign of the supporting docs and old passport

They are so mixed up, renewal and new done at the same time… dd passport took 8 weeks but passport was returned after 3, ds passport took 4-5 weeks but birth certificate took 10! We had given up on it being returned.

Still no sign of the documents. Will have to phone them next week and ask them to track DD’s passport down

I’m in a similar boat, OP. They asked for DS’s US passport as proof that the same name is being used on both passports. That was 7 weeks ago.
I since get weekly emails asking me to send the requested US passport (oh but do please ignore if you’ve already sent it off).
It’s an absolute shambles of a service.
My feeling is that I’ll have to report DS’s US passport as lost. And I wonder if he’ll EVER get a new UK passport at this rate.

I renewed my DS's US passport in February (a really fun trip to the embassy!!) then decided to renew his UK one at the beginning of April. Got his new UK one back in a couple of weeks but still waiting for his new US one to be returned! I wouldn't mind but the US passport is the one I actually need to travel this summer 🤦‍♀️

Is anyone else still waiting? My DD simple passport renewal took 13wks& only arrived after chasing via escalation process, but now we haven’t had back our marriage certificate we are approaching 16wk mark I just bloomin despair at the crap service! I’ve got to do other child’s renewal now in Sept as I’ve realised her extra months from previous renewal don’t count 😫for our trip after Xmas.

I received my British passport over one week but supporting document I didn't received yet and ticket to travel next 10 days !

I got ours back about a week after passports came, passports and documents were all back within a month. Didn't pay for any special delivery, just delivered standard.

When I said within a month I meant within a month of applying for the passports online. I found it very quick and efficient.

It took several months for my DC’s old passport to come back to us. I was resigned to it being lost or intercepted in the post and used for identity fraud when it turned up.

Sorry to dig up an old thread here, but I am so anxious as it’s been 3 weeks since I received the new UK passport but my other passport and supporting documents still not turned up. Should I wait longer? What’s the longest you’ve had to wait for your supporting documents to return?
