Portugal Holiday Planning

I'm beginning to look into booking a summer holiday in Portugal but literally have no clue where to start. We're a family of 4, DS12 and DD15.

We haven't had a holiday abroad since 2019 and tbh that holiday and the previous one (both France) were dodgy weather so we really need some guaranteed sunshine. We'll be going end of July:early August. Both kids really want access to a pool and DH and I would like easy access to a beach and possibly a nearby (pretty) city to explore, DD will want to laze about doing very little which is fine. DS needs more entertaining and ideally the chance to meet other kids to play football with etc. I'm thinking we maybe need some sort of beach resort that would have twin rooms as we are all too old to be sharing a single hotel room. Any suggestions would be very gratefully received 🙏🙏 Thank you!

Not been yet (booked for June) but look at Salema beach resort which is where we’re going.

Ooh, thank you both. I'm off to look it up now! I should've said in my original post - I've never been to Portugal before so am truly clueless! 🤣

We are going to Pestana Blue Alvor (through Tui) at the end of July. We have a DS17 and a DS11 (who also loves football!). It looks perfect. We’ve never been to Portugal before either.

Oh and we have twin rooms too if that’s any help?

Alvor is lovely.. a quaint town with great restaurants.

Google Praia Dos Tres Irmaos beach in Alvor - it's stunning.

Enjoy Smile

Alvor.
We went twice when DC were similar ages to yours and loved it.
It has the most fabulous beach, miles of it. Plenty of hotels and a lovely little town with cobbled streets, harbour and good restaurants. Also not far to water parks.
