Anyone claimed Covid cancellation cover on their travel insurance?

I’m due to go on holiday on Monday, but I’ve tested positive for Covid this morning sad

While I don’t feel terrible, I don’t want to go.

I’ve checked and I’m covered for Covid related cancellations but presumably I need to provide proof of a proper test, not just a LTF.

Has anyone done this?

I haven't done it myself (was about to as LFTs were still positive the day before I was due to travel but thankfully got a negative on the day), but my policy also states that the result needs to be confirmed by a PCR. Where I live, they're the equivalent of £40-50 (none available for free unless you're in hospital) but it's worth paying that if you'll get back hundreds or thousands. Good luck OP and I hope you're feeling okay.
