Hi, am considering taking ds (4) here as he's been bugging us to go camping (I do appreciate that this may not be everyone's idea of camping!)
Has anyone been to any of the farms or know anything of them?
TIA x

This is soooo my idea of camping. I've requested a brochure!

I know! How great is it. If it doesn't satisfy ds then dh is taking him out to the garden with a tent.

we are going this yr. looks great!

Dh and I have been looking at these; they look lovely, although not cheap!

Quite fancied it until the pic with the hot fire in teh middle of the tent. Hot fire + toddler x 2 = Casualty

Any advice on which one to choose? Do you think a week is too long? Can you tell I'm not a real camping type of person...?

That sounds like a good idea. I think I'll book a short break for the first time!

sorry for the caps. thats y we booked a short break, a week may be overkill!!

Artichokes · 09/01/2008 13:33

We went to the one in Scotland it it was FAB. Confy, luxurious yet fun for the kids. Farm anaimals to play with, beach nearby. All the quiptment you need to make lovely food and have fun.

The best camping ever. We are going to another Featherdown in August.

hertsnessex · 09/01/2008 13:38

thats great to know. which one are you off to in aug?

rabbitrabbit · 09/01/2008 13:44

That's great to hear. I've just booked Knaveswell Farm Dorset for a midwk break in August, hpefully it will be lovely-I chose that one because it's close to Studland Beach & Nature Reserve which also looks lovely.

They are really great - there's a thread in camping on it, from last year so have a look. Thread includes ideas on what to take etc. We are going again this year. I think a short break is probably long enough.

Bubble - will have a toddler this year too so wondering how we shield the stove!!

Herts - we are off to the Somerset one in August. I think it is called Moore Farm. DH liked the idea of trout fishing in the lake in the evenings . I like the idea of a day at the baths in Bath if it rains. We wanted to go to the Cornish one (its right on Lands End and I love that area) but it was already booked out for the period we wanted.
